What is the best way to maintain my hair color?

Oh I love this question, because it has to do with chemistry. #nerdalert🤓

Short answer: proper color protect products aka the right shampoo and conditioner for starters. And cooler temps with tools and water

Long answer:
-Proper color products containing a low pH to keep your cuticle closed.
-Heat protection
-Cool water to help keep your cuticle closed
-Deep conditioning masks to help prevent dryness and fading
-Turning down the hot tools, yes the hot temps fade color!

2. Color safe shampoo and conditioner
3. Turn down your hot tools
4. Protect from chlorine

Did you know water temperature and the products you use make a MASSIVE difference in the longevity of your color?

- Hot water swells the cuticle open, letting the color molecules wash right down that drain.

-Color safe shampoo and conditioner is formulated with a lower pH to help seal the cuticle and lock that vibrancy in place

-Hot tools can change your color instantly. It literally burns the color off of the hair, so use a heat protectant!

- Chlorine can really wreak havoc on your color, so help your hair by having it absorb CLEAN WATER first (get your hair wet before entering that pool girlfriend) , and then create a barrier on top with a leave in conditioner.
